We are looking for an experienced, pragmatic DevOps to join our team and help us push our organization to even higher levels by planning and implementing easy to use development, staging and production environments for Big Data processing.

You will be in close collaboration with teams of data engineers, data scientists and AWS infrastructure engineers to make sure our continuous delivery pipeline is reliable, and our production data services are 24*7 available for our business users in different countries.

• Can demonstrate their solid technical skills in Python (profiling, Testing methods), Shell scripting.
• Believe in DRY and are master of autmation! They "Don’t Repeat Themselves". Have allergies for any kind of waste, manual repetitive not-automated task; well… after manually doing it 5-10 times. Proven experience with CloudFormation and Ansible is a must for this role.
• Have 1+ years of full-time experience supporitng live AWS or virtual infrastructures (VMWare etc). Setting up CloudWatch, API Gateways, EMR clusters, Redshift, ElasticSearch and DynamoDB is a plus.
• Have solid foundation in Linux administration and troubleshooting, experience with system performance evaluation, resource usage profiling and tracing. They have a systematic approach to pinpoint the root cause of any problem.
• Design automated, easy to use CI/CD pipelines and make using it irresistable and safe for everybody in team. Experience with Jenkins, Docker (ECS), CodeDeply, CodePipeline and any serverless framework is a plus.
• Have been using Docker and Git in collaborative workflows for a few years.

• Make quality a requirements issue: it is not enough to deliver something that works sometimes/maybe, we are building the core part of data platform for DataChef. We love people who care about their craft and are proud about the quality of their code.
• Have proven record of setting up monitoring, alerting and reporting for cloud production environments. CloudWatch, DataDog and AWS X-Ray are a daily routine.
• Know a few storage and data store technologies including S3, Glacier and Redis very well.
• Have extended knowledge of the network protocols and technologies available in AWS.
• Are good citizens of remote teams. They don’t assume others know, so make everything (meetings, decisions, thoughts, code, etc) explicit & traceable.
• Know about the latest developments in the DevOps and Site Reliability community, combined with the ability to decide which of these are most relevant to our clients and translate them into opportunities.
• Contribute to open source projects, have an active GitHub profile and/or trying to help others in Stackoverflow and other communities.
• Understand being part of an international team means participation in on-call rotations during off hours of Netherlands. We believe in work-life balance so try to minimise off hour calls by introducing our chaos monkeys! 🐒
